Basic Information:

Storage: Rabbit IgG in 10mM phosphate buffered saline, pH7.4, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.05% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.Store at +4℃ short term. Store at -20℃ long term. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycle.

Background: MMP9 May play an essential role in local proteolysis of the extracellular matrix and in leukocyte migration. Could play a role in bone osteoclastic resorption. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family. Activated by 4-aminophenylmercuric acetate and phorbol ester. Exists as monomer or homodimer; disulfide-linked. Exists also as heterodimer with a 25 kDa protein. Macrophages and transformed cell lines produce only the monomeric form. Interacts with ECM1.
